About Us

Who? 

Any family interested in the vision of the Krops4Kids garden is 

welcome. Each family will be invited to join our community garden 

as openings are available. There is no cost to join.


What? 

Responsibly completing all processes necessary for harvest: soil prep, 

planting, weeding, watering and harvesting. Crops are planted in 

raised beds or directly into the ground.  Participation in prayer and 

bible lessons at each work session.


When?

Planting season typically runs from March-October with two 

scheduled work sessions per week.  Each family is required to give a 

commitment of at least once a week.


Where?

 9 miles south of Effingham. 


Produce: 

Past crops harvested include tomatoes, sweet corn, carrots, 

cucumbers, squash, green beans, watermelon, potatoes, okra, 

strawberries, blueberries, peppers, and pumpkins. Harvested 

produce is divided; amounts may vary depending on the success 

of the harvest. Surplus produce is given to local residents and 

restaurants in exchange for a free will donation to support

the garden.
